Athlete mid-session in a 7 in short over a compression base layer

Lined/ Unlined

Separate layers, specialized purposes. Each listing defines its exact place in the lineup, ensuring your gear is perfectly paired before it even ships.

Three quarter compression base layer worn on body

The one detail that decides how a short wears

Most confusion about training shorts starts in the same place. A pair that felt right in the hand, worn over nothing on a run, gets blamed for the chafing. A lined pair pulled over a compression tight leaves two waistbands fighting each other. Neither short was wrong. The pairing was.

Unlined, half of an outfit

It expects something underneath. The compression layer does the work against the skin, and the short is left to handle clearance.

Pair withA base layer sized one step tighter than the short.
WashLayer after every session, short after two or three.
StackSkin, layer, short. One waistband doing the gripping.
Lined, finished on its own

The liner is sewn in, so the short is a complete garment the day it arrives. Nothing goes under it.

Pair withNothing. A tight underneath fights the liner.
WashAfter one session, every time.
StackSkin, short. Own two pairs if you train back to back.

One length is never enough

A five inch short and a nine inch short are not one garment in two sizes. Before a length earns a listing it meets the movements: deep knee bend, hip hinge, loaded carry.

Deep knee bendFull clearance. Nothing catches at the top of the thigh.
Hip hingeWaistband stays flat through the whole pull.
Loaded carryPockets sit high and close, so nothing swings.
Deep knee bendClears the bend with the hem settling above the knee.
Hip hingeHolds under a belt without rolling.
Loaded carryA phone and a key ride without pulling the waist down.
Deep knee bendSits calm over a sleeve with no bunch behind the knee.
Hip hingeNo roll, loaded or empty, seated or standing.
Loaded carryDeeper pockets keep the weight low and still.

We stock what survives the week

The catalog is small on purpose. Styles that photograph well and fail the hinge never reach a product page, and base layers that feel right for ten minutes and go slack after that do not either. What is left is a range you can read through in a few minutes, held in the sizes and lengths a normal training week actually asks for.
